This section of the site is meant to be used as a guide while you are measuring
your body. You should print it out and use it as a visual guide while you are working. Fill out the measurement worksheet completely because you will need all of the measurements to get your patterns to fit
correctly. Please read the measurement worksheet carefully to ensure that you completely understand how to take all of your measurements.
How To Measure Don’t take measurements yourself! We recommend that
you have a friend help you.
While measuring pay attention to these tips:
Wear your normal under garments or foundations (no lycra, or leotards unless this is your normal undergarments).Stand in your bare feet, with your normal posture. Put on a necklace to find the base of your neck at the back .
Accuracy in locating the waistline is the primary source of measuring problems. The waistline should be located where your body creases when you bend over slightly forward or where you like to wear your
waistbands. To make sure that your waistband location does not move while you are measuring, we recommend that you put masking tape on your waist and draw your waistband on the tape. You should also use masking tape
and ink pen to mark your hip, and abdomen.
For the whole measuring process, look straight ahead, and relax.
There are a few crucial measurements. These measurements will determine whether you
patterns fit well or not so take great care with these measurements. These crucial measurements are indicated by red lettering.
How To Use Your Measurements In The Patternmaking Software ....go to
settings, create measurements, then look for the patternmaker file called "Meas Tables", I found it within the program files, then patternmaker 6. Choose the Women's default measurements.....you should
re-name the measurements then insert your own measurements.......So after this completed, choose your own measurements while using the macros to create your custom patterns!
